Explore the colorful journey of
Lekenstam Art
One of Maria’s paintings is called “I Am Many”, witch means I contain multitudes. The title reflects not only herself but also others — a reminder that we are all far more multifaceted, complex, and creative than we often realize.
Maria grew up in Småland, where the forests, lakes, and ever-changing nature became an early source of inspiration for her artistic expression. Today she lives in Björkekärr, Gothenburg, where the surrounding landscapes continue to influence her painting.
A few years ago, she found her way back to creative painting — something she is deeply grateful for. To lose oneself in colors and shapes is, as she describes it, a pure and almost childlike joy.

In our time, we truly need to be able to imagine and dream about what is possible, and how we wish things could be.
I hope my art can encourage more imagination.

ACRYLIC, LAYERS & FIGURATIVE STYLE
All of Maria’s paintings are original acrylic artworks, created in multiple layers on heavy jute canvas. Her art is deeply rooted in her own imagination, and each piece feels like a journey of discovery — an exploration through color, form, and emotion.
Her paintings are characterized by their figurative style, bold use of color, and imaginative expression. She has a particular love for working on a large scale, often creating vibrant, organic forms — leaves, flowers, and trees — and exploring how they interact and grow together in harmony.
